The work of the elders at Church on the Rock may be seen in the following things. All will function according to the measure of the gifts and/or talents of eldership given to them by christ, the head of the Church (Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 12:41-48; 19:11-26).

• Ruling the flock (Hebrews 13:7, 24; 1 Timothy3:4-5, 14: Romans 12:8; I Thessalonians 5:12-14; 1 Peter 5:2)
• Teaching the Flock of God (Hebrews 13:7; 1 Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:9; 1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 2:2)
• Shepherding the Flock of God (Acts 20:17, 28; 1 Peter 5:2; John 21:15-17). To take the leadership, direction, watch over, care for the superintend the Flock of God. Watch for wolves from outside, and the "Diotrephes" spirit from inside the Eldership.
• Caring for the Flock of God (James 5:14; Ezekiel 34; Jeremiah 23:1-5)
• Governing the flock (1 timothy 5:17; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Isaiah 9:6; 2 Peter 2:10). Government of the the local church needed eldership. Responsible for souls of the people and that God's house is well governed. watch for diversionary things (Romans 16:17-18; Colossians 2:8,18; 1 Corinthians 1:10-16; Acts 15:22-31).
• Living for the Flock of God (John 10; Ezekiel 34; Jeremiah 23:1-5). The shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. It is not just a job, but a life calling.
• Safeguarding the Flock of God from False Ministries (Acts 15; Revelation 2:2; Acts 2:42; 16:4-5; 1 Timothy 4:1). Many false ministries travel around seeking sheep to devour. The true Eldership will guard the Flock from false ministries and prove any they allow in to minister to their people first. Beware of mixture seed in the vineyard of the Lord (Leviticus 19:19; Deuteronomy 22:11).
